Чек, в оплате которого отказано и который возвращен в банк, представивший его. Если причиной отказа является отсутствие средств, банк делает на чеке пометку “обратитесь к чекодателю” (refer to drawer); при желании банка предоставить клиенту возможность получить деньги в случае поступления на счет достаточной для покрытия чека суммы на чеке делается надпись “просьба предъявить повторно”. Тогда инкассирующий банк снова представит чек к оплате, предварительно известив клиента, что был получен отказ в платеже по чеку.
